When hostel food becomes bore or threat to the students of SSN college gents hostels.. there is always a place for them to hangout for … none other than MUNIYANDI VILAS .My college , SSN where i finished my UG degree is situated in kalavakkam which is exactly 4 kms from kelambakkam a remote village on the outskirts of chennai on the way to the land of beach temples the Mahabalipuram. The road is populary named as IT highway as it happened to be a place where you can find so many popular IT companies.But all those companies happened to be situated only till Navaloor when u proceed towards Mahabalipuram from chennai.And so the area kalambakkam is just another village that is developing on the outskrits of chennai cause of its rapid industrial growth.

Muniyandi vilas is one of the famous road side hotels in kelambakkam where you can see

SSN guys most of the time a day. As the food that is served in my hostel mess often turns to the yuckiest thing you have ever imagined, guys from the gents hostel of my college rush for their seats in muniyandi vilas. As muniyandi vilas is not a hotel that can handle huge crowds most of the guys used to wait too long to taste their meal.

Why muniyandi vilas ? and why not anyother hotel ?

We guys used to prefer muniyandi vilas than any other hotel in the village as people who run the hotel gives us a warm hospitality the very moment we get into the hotel till you come out.And not just the hospitality that is given to us, but the food served to us will make us come again when our tummy feels even a lil hungry. There wouldnt be no compromise of the food being served.Its just to say more than delicious and the quality of food is really awesome and the cost of the food is absolutely cheaper than you would expect for its taste.

The special recipies of muniyandi vilas are

Mutton biriyani , Chicken biriyani , Chicken65 , Chicken Servaa (the chicken gravy), Mutton Servaa(the mutton gravy), Barota (typical indian’s night time meal) , Kal dosa( dosa in which the flour is being spread to only a diameter of 6 to 7cms with no edible oil and dosa itself will be thicker , SP Dosa(the special dosa in which the flour is being spread to the diameter of 18 to 20 cms with more edible oil and so the dosa looks thin as a paper) and most of all,many peoples favorite dish,the

MUTTA BAROTA ( a mixture of barota pieces with egg and servaa fried together) and ofourse the egg omlet an half boiled eggs add up the richeness of taste.

Muniyandi vilas a eco friendly partner… the food served in muniyandi vilas is maily served in banana leaf and the fuel used to fire up the stove are just logs of wood and pieces of coal. Muniyandi vilas is not just a place for non vegetarian food.It also satifies the vegetarian people to some extent during the afternoon meals.Many talks to our college management has been made to make muniyandi vilas as our regular mess caterers was made.It was so unfortunate that none of them succeded.

Muniyandi vilas i would say is exactly a place for non vegetatrian food lovers and is the heaven for SSN college students.If you would have any chance of crossing kelambakkam when you make any trip to Mahabalipuram, just dont forget this road side heaven ready to serve you delicious food.

The all new HONDA CIVIC HYBRID for you

The President and CEO, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd, Mr Masahiro Takedagawa, launched the all new 1.8-litre Honda Civic Hybrid in on 18thjune in New Delhi. The car is equipped with a petrol engine and an electric battery. Honda said that the Civic Hybrid would cost Rs 21. 5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) considering the import duty on a completely built unit stands at 104 per cent. The company will be importing the CBU from Japan. However, it is also exploring alternatives through which it can import the engines and parts and bring the car as a semi knocked down unit.

The company officials said that company did not expect to sell high volumes, but wanted to make a statement of its technology and commitment to the environment. Honda has imported around 130 units and expects to sell around 300 during the year.

Civic hybrid is a No made in India car

The Civic Hybrid would be offered with a 1.3 litre petrol engine. From the time of the start-up and acceleration, both the engine and the motor function together. Only when the car is being driven at a high speed that the motor does not work and the vehicle is run on the engine. When the car is idling , the petrol engine automatically stops and the battery keeps the vehicle running, saving fuel. The car when being driven at 40-50 km per hour, operates only on the battery offering maximum fuel efficiency.

According to the company, the fuel efficiency of Civic Hybrid is in the range of 19-23 km a per litre when measured with the existing petrol based model, that offers approximately 15 km per litre.
