When hostel food becomes bore or threat to the students of SSN college gents hostels.. there is always a place for them to hangout for … none other than MUNIYANDI VILAS .My college , SSN where i finished my UG degree is situated in kalavakkam which is exactly 4 kms from kelambakkam a remote village on the outskirts of chennai on the way to the land of beach temples the Mahabalipuram. The road is populary named as IT highway as it happened to be a place where you can find so many popular IT companies.But all those companies happened to be situated only till Navaloor when u proceed towards Mahabalipuram from chennai.And so the area kalambakkam is just another village that is developing on the outskrits of chennai cause of its rapid industrial growth.

Muniyandi vilas is one of the famous road side hotels in kelambakkam where you can see

SSN guys most of the time a day. As the food that is served in my hostel mess often turns to the yuckiest thing you have ever imagined, guys from the gents hostel of my college rush for their seats in muniyandi vilas. As muniyandi vilas is not a hotel that can handle huge crowds most of the guys used to wait too long to taste their meal.

We guys used to prefer muniyandi vilas than any other hotel in the village as people who run the hotel gives us a warm hospitality the very moment we get into the hotel till you come out.And not just the hospitality that is given to us, but the food served to us will make us come again when our tummy feels even a lil hungry. There wouldnt be no compromise of the food being served.Its just to say more than delicious and the quality of food is really awesome and the cost of the food is absolutely cheaper than you would expect for its taste.

The all new HONDA CIVIC HYBRID for you

The President and CEO, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd, Mr Masahiro Takedagawa, launched the all new 1.8-litre Honda Civic Hybrid in on 18thjune in New Delhi. The car is equipped with a petrol engine and an electric battery. Honda said that the Civic Hybrid would cost Rs 21. 5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) considering the import duty on a completely built unit stands at 104 per cent. The company will be importing the CBU from Japan. However, it is also exploring alternatives through which it can import the engines and parts and bring the car as a semi knocked down unit.

The company officials said that company did not expect to sell high volumes, but wanted to make a statement of its technology and commitment to the environment. Honda has imported around 130 units and expects to sell around 300 during the year.

Civic hybrid is a No made in India car

The Civic Hybrid would be offered with a 1.3 litre petrol engine. From the time of the start-up and acceleration, both the engine and the motor function together. Only when the car is being driven at a high speed that the motor does not work and the vehicle is run on the engine. When the car is idling , the petrol engine automatically stops and the battery keeps the vehicle running, saving fuel. The car when being driven at 40-50 km per hour, operates only on the battery offering maximum fuel efficiency.

According to the company, the fuel efficiency of Civic Hybrid is in the range of 19-23 km a per litre when measured with the existing petrol based model, that offers approximately 15 km per litre.

Mozilla on 17th june released an improved version of its Firefox web browser that has gained popularity as a free alternative to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.Mozilla’s Firefox promises internet surfing that is fast, secure and easy to customize because it is designed to adapt the people’s online activities.

The company claimed that the new Firefox version is available in 50 languages and is at least twice as fast as its predecessor and boasts 15000 improvements including malware protection. The interest in the California based organization’s new generation browser was so intense before it was released that traffic to that Mozilla website caused it to crash.Firefox is available free for computers using Windows, Linux and Machintosh OSX operating system.

Performance test between Safari 3.1,Firefox3,InternetExplorer7

To get a perspective on how the browsers perform in the real world, I ran all our tests on a more typical office machine, a PC running Windows XP on a 2.67 Pentium M chip with 512MB of RAM. I then put each browser through its paces, asking them to load and reload five websites: our own timesjobs.com, orkut.com, msn.com, yahoo.com and an international news site bbc.co.uk. I repeated all my speed tests three times, clearing the cache when necessary, to produce an average result.

Against the clock, Safari was the clear speed demon, especially when it came to reloading pages it already visited and cached. Firefox was second, with IE pulling up the rear.

The stopwatch doesn’t tell the full story, however. While Firefox took a while to finish loading the page completely, all the elements that matter to the reader – the text and pictures – were loaded first. The remaining data loads in the background.

What this means in practise is that Safari and Firefox feel almost equally zippy, while IE 7 feels even slower than its load times suggest. In a head-to-head race to load each page so it looked complete to the naked eye, Firefox 3 and Safari 3.1 could not be separated on three of our five test sites. Safari consistently had the edge on the other two, while IE 7 was a visible third every time.

VERDICT

Benchmarking browsers by their load time is a useful but slightly misleading exercise, as test reflect. While IE 7 only slightly lags Firefox 3 on the stopwatch, in real-world terms it comes in a very distant third. IE 8 has just entered beta and Microsoft will need to do more than add new features to arrest the steady migration of users to not only Firefox but also Safari.

Apple’s software is the browser of choice for Mac users and it’s proving to be the speed king on Windows PCs. The streamlined interface is easier to use than IE 7’s reinventing-the-wheel layout and if Apple’s iPod halo effect shines a light on Safari 3.1, many PC users will be pleasantly surprised by what they find.

In real world situations, however, Firefox 3 hardly lags Safari in the speed stakes, and offers more than just extra pep. Version 3.0 is a big improvement to a browser that’s already the connoisseurs choice, and the new Location Bar alone will change your online life.

Start typing in the revamped address bar and Firefox starts sifting through your History, Bookmarks and any blog-like Tags you’ve attached to them to guess what page you’re looking for and bring those you visit most often to the top.

Removing Amvo.exe Virus

Hi friends,One week ago my system started acting funny ,the hidden files where always hidden even if we change the file settings in it & the hard disk partition’s didn’t open up correctly and i was not even able to explore them by right clicking on it.The only way it can be accessed was using direct explore from my computer or some other tools.I checked my all ongoing process on that time and found a process called as amvo.exe

I tried to get it out but wasn’t able to by just removing it from msconfig startup,then i searched the net and found out the way to remove it & here it is

Go to command prompt by running cmd in run
Go to c:\Windows\System32 folder

Delete the amvo.exe file in it by using

del /f/ah amvo.exe

check if there are anyother dll by the same name like amvo0.dll or amvo1.dll
u will not be able to remove those files now,don’t worry about that.Now remove the amvo.exe from startup and restart your system.

After Restarting your system goto command prompt and delelte those dll files in the system32 folder by using the same command

del /f/ah amvo0.dll
del /f/ah amvo1.dll

these files ll be present only sometimes

then goto back to c:\ in command prompt and remove the autorun.inf file by using the same command

del /f/ah autorun.inf

do this for all the partitionson your system.
Don’t open anyone now,restart the system then access them .

If u wanna check whether they are gone,use dir in command prompt for hidden files to view it

dir /ah

There are lots of websites in the internet, but not all websites drive our attraction. There is one website called Bhookh.com which i came to know from one of my friends when we both were chatting through gtalk.My friend asked me just to visit this website and click a tab in the websites in the home page which read “Give free food click here“.So i just clicked the tab and found a message in the next page “Thank you! You have donated a cup of staple food to a chronically hungry Indian. Please remember to come back tomorrow.”

After that i just read about the origin of the web site.The main objective of the website is to provide, using the Internet, staple food to chronically hungry Indians so as to enable them to survive, learn and work

.This website was started in memory of a Lt. Nawang Kapadia who served for Indian army.

You too can save a child every day by providing a cup of food in just a click.All you have to do is just to click in the tab on the home page of the web site.

You might love listening to your favorite music on your ipod, but a survey conducted by the Australian hearing corporation has revealed more than 70 percent of the young adults are losing their hearing power by usage of head phones . many youngsters suffer from the first sign of hearing loss with tinnitus or ringing in the ear ,which may be due to listening to music played at dangerously loud level through head phones.

Its is a real surprise because that was actually more common than the older respondents.Mostly for the younger people it doesn’t happen when the usage of head phones is minimum.And a survey report of the Australian hearing corporation says that two thirds of the people listened to the music and of those, 60 percent plays music at dangerous loud levels and add that it could just takes few weeks time to disable the persons hearing capability.

The risk of damage occurs in two stages when people go to concerts and noisy venues of which both occurs in the inner ear and in which one is temporary and one is permanent.

We tend to notice the temporary loss of hearing and we notice it come back again in the next day or two.What we don’t notice is that at the same time through a different mechanism theres a permanent loss going on.

Using of head phones is unavoidable, but protect our health is the first concern.Usage of head phones at the considerable amount volume protects us from hearing problems.Using head phones in dangerous volume levels may even shatter our hearing capability to hear some of music tracks
